Season 43 was the 13th season since the introduction of Super Sunday selection.
Though it is still called "Super Sunday", this was the third year in a row it was held on Saturday.
The format did not change this year.
Merrimack's win is the first time any school has won three appearances in a row, and marked their fifth victory overall, all in the last six years.
Conval's victory in the first round marked the first time a Wild Card team has advanced from the 1st round.
Our Lady of Mercy Academy was initially selected as a Wild Card team but was unable to field a team. Conval was selected as the replacement.
