Season 35 was the 5th season since the introduction of Super Sunday selection.
Season 35 featured the first back to back champions in show history, Nashua South. This had not been possible in the show's Historic Era, due to the way teams were selected for each season.
Also, Season 35 featured the expansion of the Wild Card from two to four teams. The Wild Card selection process proved popular, and provided a way to expand the reach of the show. This change marked the most recent major change to the show's selection process.
